ISTANBUL 01-04.05.2008 (Wednesday – Sunday)

Program of the Travel company:

Don’t be afraid about the high prices you will see on the first reading. Please read the whole page till the end, you will see I am suggesting there a different program with less money to spend and the same historical places.

IF QUESTIONS call HORHE 0887290538!!!

30.04.08 – 21h departure from Sofia (National Stadium Vasil Levski in front of the main door 20:30h).

01.05 – 9h arrival in Istanbul. Tour walk in the old area. Visit of the sultan palace and Roma water-tanks. Passing through the Hippodrome, The Blue Mosque, and others. This excursion is free.

12:00h visit of the Sultan palace – “Top Kapi” –one of the most interesting Turkish palaces. (14 euro)

14:30h – visit of the famous water tanks – “Jerebatan” – it is highly interesting with amazing architecture. (14 euro)

If you want there could be organized a dinner – 12 euro (menu without alcohol with three meals)

Night in the hotel Delta (3*).

02.05 – Breakfast. Visit of St. Sofia Church and the Blue mosque. Free time – possibility to the one of the biggest markets in the world – “Kapalucharshi”. If you want a dinner in a fish restaurant it will be 32 euros just near the Bosphorus! Night in the hotel.

03.05 – Breakfast. Panoramic view of Istanbul by bus (9:00h o’clock -15 euros): it includes visit to Asia and one of the biggest bridges in the world, the stadium of Galata Saray, and others. Visit of the new palace Dolmabahche – Renaissance palace – (24 euro) + Suleymanie mosque. Tour with a ship around the Bosphorus – 28euros – It includes viewing of the most luxurious houses of the rich Turkish people. Turkish night in a restaurant (around 45 euro – typical music and folklore dances – dinner with alcohol 200gr. and three meals). Night in the hotel.

04.05 – Breakfast. Possible excursion to the Prince Islands (around 15 euro). 14:30h – travel to Odrin (tour there). At Sofia around 04:00h.

The price includes: medical insurance; 3 nights in a hotel 3* in double rooms, 3 breakfasts, tour in Istanbul, tour-guide from Bulgaria, walk in the old city of Istanbul, visit of Odrin, 4* bus transportation.

MY PROGRAM – just for friends and Erasmus (here I try to improvise – I am not a tour guide but I know some places in Istanbul and want to see the maximum with minimum money:

Thursday: Free walk till 12h. Then visit the palace, blue mosque and Saint Sofia church on our own, we should pay like 30euros entrances maximum. We could have dinner at Galata bridge – there are lots of fish restaurants.

Friday: In the morning we could visit the modern palace (10euros entrance). Travel to the prince islands like – 10euros, on our own.

Saturday: I suggest we should go the panoramic tour (15euros) and then I could lead you to the market – it is really huge and you can make a lot of shopping.

During the nights we’ll do parties, and we are trying to arrange a meeting with Istanbul Erasmus students. If somebody wants to go to the excursions organized by the company it is not a problem – I just tried to make a cheaper program. I really recommend the Turkish nights show although it is very expensive.
